Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source that uses the Earth’s internal heat. This heat comes from the planet's core and is constantly produced. This steam is then brought to the surface to turn a large machine called a turbine, which generates electricity. One of the main advantages of geothermal energy is its high reliability. Unlike solar or wind power, it is not dependent on weather conditions and can produce energy 24 hours a day. However, a significant challenge is its geographical limitation. Geothermal power plants can only be built in specific areas where this heat is close to the surface, such as near volcanoes or tectonic plate boundaries. While the initial cost to build a power plant is high, the long-term operational costs are relatively low. This makes it an important clean energy alternative for suitable regions.
