The Simple Water Cycle

The water cycle is how water moves around our planet. It is a very important process for all life. The sun's heat makes water from oceans and rivers go up into the sky. This is called evaporation. In the sky, the water gets cold and forms small drops. These drops come together to make clouds. This part of the cycle is condensation. When the clouds are full of water, the water falls back to the ground. This is rain or snow, and it is called precipitation. This water goes into rivers and returns to the ocean. Then, the cycle starts again. It is a continuous journey.
